This was the first time in 5 years that we were able to spend Thanksgiving with our families! The last time was when we were still in college, back in 2004. We couldn't decide what to do though. Do we choose only one side of the family to spend the holiday with? Neither of us wanted to do that. Do we try to split it and drive the 4 hours that day to see both families? We do that for Christmas every year and we didn't really feel like having to do that on Thanksgiving as well. So, we decided to see what everyone thought about coming to us instead. They loved the idea!
My parents, and my brother and his wife only came over Thanksgiving day, but Matt's parents and his sisters family came in the day before. As soon as our nephews arrived, (that's a long drive for a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old!) they immediately ran around and around (and around) the house.

They did take a break to "play" the piano.

And Will wanted to learn how to play the guitar too. Jake was only interested in Matt's cell phone though.

This was our first turkey we've ever made! Thank goodness for our moms being there because I had no idea what I was doing! It was actually super easy though!
And it turned out great!

The 'spread'

While we were waiting for things to cook, my mom took the boys out to the driveway to draw a surprise for "Uncle Matt and Aunt Kristin"

They did a great job of coloring in the feathers!

And Will was so excited to show us the finished product

He's such a ham, he ran around the house with his turkey hat yelling "gobble gobble gobble". So cute.

After a day of eating tons of great food, we tried to work it off a bit with some Wii bowling!

Then we moved on to the WiiFit and the boys had a blast trying some of the balance games. Pretty impressive for a 2 year old!

We had such a blast hanging out with our families. It was such a whirlwind and wished we could have spent even more time with them. It's amazing though when you have 10 adults, 2 kids, and 5 dogs in your house, how much it tires you out! Once everyone left on Friday, the puppies (and Matt and I) crashed hard!
