Beach wedding

We went to our first beach wedding this weekend! It was really pretty, they had a great day for a wedding. They were originally calling for thunderstorms, so we were relieved that it never did rain. It was just HOT! It was really neat to be back at the beaches on the east coast. Maybe I'm just biased, maybe it's just the sentimental familiarity, but I do have to say that I like those beaches much better than the ones here in Cali. Congrats Chris and Janet!

The neat welcome kit waiting for us at the hotel.

the beach was CROWDED!

cute!

How neat.....

Awww!

Yipee!

yummy cake

LOVED the table numbers. They drew each number in the sand and took a picture of their dog next to it...how creative!

dog? or cat?

I've never seen a dog sit on top of the couch like this before. She sits up there quite a bit, and tonight I was quick enough with the camera before she jumped back down. A lot of times she takes her rawhide up there with her. Maybe she thinks its a safe place away from Max where he can't steal her bone? Not really sure but I just thought it was kind of quirky!

First trip to Disneyland

Matt and I have lived in California for just over 3 years now and have not yet been to Disneyland. It's been on our list of "California things to do" but we just haven't gotten around to it. Our friends Clay and Krista have season passes and so it worked out great that we could go with them! Since they (well, Krista actually) has been there a bunch of times, they were able to show us around, and I loved all of Krista's random trivia about the park. I had actually been to Disneyland when I was 6 years old, but I didn't remember much of anything about it.

Entrance to Disneyland

We stopped to watch the parade go by, which I thought was really neat. All the floats were so detailed.

I think this guy has one of the coolest jobs! He gets paid to bounce around on a trampoline. Except for having to be in costume in 90 degree weather, it looks like fun!

My brother is 3 years older than me, and I always wanted to do whatever he did. Well when we were at Disneyland when I was 6, he went to get on Space Mountain, but I wasn't tall enough. Apparently according to my mom I threw quite a fit about it! So now, 20 years later, I was able to redeem myself. I finally got to ride Space Mountain!

Mr. and Mrs. Jason Zepp!

I can't believe I have known Rachael since pre-school! We got to her wedding and were seated, and just a few minutes before her ceremony was supposed to start, it started to rain! (It was an outside ceremony) We all had to head for the tent where the reception was going to be, and wait out the rain. Luckily we only had to wait about 20 minutes, and the skies cleared up again. We all took our seats again, and the ceremony went off without a hitch. I had such a good time, it was so great being able to see a few of my high school friends. We don't get to all be together too often, but I love the fact that when we are together, it's as if we've never left. It's times like this that I really miss being closer to the east coast.

The happy couple! (I had trouble with the person's head in front of me, I couldn't get a good picture without it at the bottom)

Me, Melissa (Aiden's mom), Rachel, and Kate - I miss these girls!!

Getting goofy!

When the caterers packed up, they left the bottles, but no cork screw. That didn't stop the guys! They found a way to the alcohol anyway....!

Let's just say the night got a little crazy! In a good way - it was a blast!

Aiden Matthew Ross

I knew I would get to see Melissa and her husband Matt at the wedding Saturday night, but they weren't going to be bringing the kids. So after brunch with Kim, we headed over to see Madison and the new baby Aiden! I totally forgot to take any pictures of Melissa with Aiden, but I did get ones of Kim and I holding him!

What a cutie!!

Gettysburg

Matt's mom is a history buff, and it had been over ten years since she had been to Gettysburg. Since it's only 20-30 minutes from my house, we decided to spend the day there today. Living so closely, I've been there a million times, but to be honest, I never really cared or payed attention to the history part of it. My dad knows a ton about the civil war and Gettysburg, and so we got the official Dwight Myers tour! It was really great to spend time with our parents, and the only bad part was the sweltering heat and humidity! The temperature was in the 90's, and the humidity I swear felt like it was 100%. I really am spoiled with this California weather.

The guys of course had to check out all the guns

Can you find my hometown, Hanover?

These are all over the battlefields

Home!

We arrived in my hometown, Hanover PA, today and we are tired! Matt had a pretty intense week at work. He was visiting a contractor in Philadelphia and had really long days. I took a red eye out from California Wednesday night, and I forgot my pillow and couldn't get comfortable the whole time! Needless to say I took a nap as soon as I got to my parent's house! We had a good day though. We mostly relaxed and hung out with my parents and their dog Roxy, and then Matt's parents came over for dinner. Roxy is the most adorable Boxer puppy, and she loves Matt and I (but especially Matt!) My mom says that whenever we visit, for a few days after we leave, Roxy will run back and forth to the guest room looking for us! Matt was rough-housing with her and wrestling around, and it was really cute because she actually would pin him on the ground! I can't wait to someday get my pups together with Roxy, they would have a blast!

Lazy Day

Today was a pretty lazy day. Other than grocery shopping and dress hunting (for a wedding we're going to this weekend) we just hung around the house. I was actually really proud of myself on our dress shopping trip - I found one in the first store we went into!! That NEVER happens. BUT, of course I wasn't satisfied that it was definitely the best dress, so I had to drag Matt into several other stores as well. And what do ya know, I found ANOTHER dress that I liked. Of course Matt likes one and I like the other one. Sooo being indecisive as usual, I decided to just get both! I figure I'll sleep on it tonight and try them on again tomorrow and see if I still like the same one, and then return the other.

When Willow finds something she really likes, she walks around with it like her prized possession. She does this charade whenever we give her a new rawhide to chew. Today, she found a golf ball under the bed and wouldn't put it down. I eventually took it away from her though since I didn't want her to choke on it.

The rest of the day was lazy - we all took naps! Willow couldn't let her bone out of sight, and Max loves to curl up with a pillow!
